(1)
Hold the microphone with capsule pointed away
from your body. Grip Microphone Capsule Holder
Base (polished metal), just below Grille
Assembly (brushed metal), with thumb and index
finger. Support the microphone body in the
remainder of your hand. (See
Figure 1)
(2)
With your other
hand, unscrew the Grille assembly, twisting with
light steady pressure. Take extreme care that
the capsule holder base does not unscrew from
the body of the microphone, as this can cause
significant wiring damage to the microphone.
(See Figure 1)

(3)
With
the Grille assembly removed, continue to hold
the microphone in your hand as before. Remove
the capsule from capsule holder base by
unscrewing it with light steady pressure.
(See Figure 2)

(4)
After capsule is
removed, check that the spring loaded plunger
contact has fully extended by pressing on it
with your finger. It should extend and retract
with minimal pressure. If not, gently grip the
gold plated plunger with a small pair of long
nose pliers and lightly extend the plunger.
(See Figure 3)

NOTE:
An extremely light coat of electronic lubricant (De-Oxit Gold is
recommended) periodically applied with a small
applicator on the side of the plunger and to the
exposed capsule holder assembly threading is a
good idea. Do not spray the microphone.
Also thinly apply the lubricant to the exposed
capsule holder assembly threading prior to
reassembly.
(5)
Hold the
microphone as described in step 1. Take the new
capsule and gently thread it on to the holder
assembly, taking care not to cross-thread the
capsule. The capsule will not need to be spun on
more than approx. 2 complete revolutions (or
until slightly snug). (See
Figure 4)

(6)
Replace Grille assembly back onto the holder,
continuing to hold the microphone as described
in Step 1(See
Figure 5)

CAUTION:
Over-tightening the Grille onto the holder will
make it difficult to remove later.
